From Chaos to Landscape

Mart Biemans is a Groningen-based artist and designer with nearly 20 years of experience in the creative industry. What started as a childhood obsession with Photoshop grew into an international career, creating artwork and design for clients including Pepsi, Adobe, Diesel, Hard Rock Cafe, Universal Music Group, Interscope Records and artists such as OneRepublic, Wiz Khalifa and Mac Miller.

After almost two decades of working primarily digitally, Mart recently returned to working by hand, experimenting with acrylic paint, charcoal, texture and mixed media. Through constant experimentation, layering and starting again, a new visual language began to emerge.

That same approach forms the foundation of From Chaos to Landscape.

Over eight weekly workshops, Mart will guide participants through the process of creating an expressive mixed-media painting from scratch. Rather than working towards a predetermined image, the focus is on experimentation: creating abstract layers, responding to unexpected results and gradually discovering structure within the chaos.

Using acrylic paint, texture, transparency and different techniques, the paintings will slowly evolve into expressive landscapes, while leaving plenty of room for your own creativity and decisions along the way.

No painting experience is required. The goal isn't to create a perfect painting, but to explore, experiment and discover where the process takes you.

One ticket gives you access to all 8 classes, so you can develop your artwork from the first layer to the final piece.
